Jesus is our refuge and shield. He protects us from the danger that surrounds us. Recently we've launched a trial ministry helping shelter women who are fleeing dangerous living conditions. We've opened a home where women can live temporarily as they work to relocate.
Last year we worked with COVE (communities overcoming violent encounters) to shelter two women. They successfully relocated to permanent housing. This year we are sheltering another friend.
Our objective is both practical and spiritual:
First, to shelter these women in a safe environment and to assist with their transition to a new permanent residence.
Secondly, our objective is spiritual. We desire to offer opportunities for these women to experience the community Christ established, known as the Church. That they might hear the Gospel, have opportunity to embrace Christ, and begin a new life with Jesus as their center.
Women who are offered temporary shelter are invited to share life in the church community of their own free will.
